Supermarket Shopping, Part 1: Sainsburys
The husband hates supermarket shopping, and he has to come with me as I don't drive yet. This has been fixed by doing all the supermarket shopping online with Sainsburys, and I love it. The best thing about is I don't need to go to the supermarket and endure the lovely smell of the bakery, or parade past the cakes and pastries. Or deal with a hungry husband in a huge supermarket.
The selection at Sainsburys is brilliant, though they don't stock a few things that Tescos do, so if I ever pop into Tescos I stock up on things like GF pitta breads and nan bread. There is a special 'Free From' section, that stocks loads of stuff, and their GF part baked baguettes are the best I have had, nearly, very nearly, like real bread! They last a month in the cupboard too, which is useful as they tend to sell out, so stock up on them if you like them. I had one today, with chunks of organic cheddar, and branston pickle... can I eat branston pickle?
Sainsburys do offer a comprehensive list of all the products they sell that are GF, download it from this page on the Sainsburys website. It's 25 pages long, so very comprehensive, and a useful guide to have you when shopping online.
My Sainsburys online order came today, all intact and looking nice, and its all in my fridge waiting to be made into something yummy and GF when we get back from the Spa my lovely husband has arranged for us to go to this evening, so I'm off to dig out my bikini.
